The Gibson RB-250 Mastertone was the working-musician’s banjo for decades and offers that classic Gibson sound with the “Snap” to the treble attack that only Gibsons have. This is essentially the same banjo as the famous Gibson RB-3 without the Wreath inlay.

SS Stewart American Princess Open Back 5-String Banjo, 1899

The SS Stewart American Princess 5-string open back banjo was built in the 1890’s in Philadelphia, and was aimed towards female players with its compact size and light weight. This wonderful SS Stewart American Princess example is in great condition and does not look at all like it’s over a century old.

Deering Sierra Mahogany 5-String Banjo Satin Natural, 2017

Here’s a Deering Sierra Mahogany 5-string banjo in satin finish, a few years old and in very nice clean condition. The Sierra is one of Deering’s most popular banjos for good reason – it’s an excellent instrument. The Deering Sierra Mahogany is also available in Maple. Both versions carry a host of high-end features that are very meaningful in terms of tone and playability , but have less decoration than higher-priced models.

Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard Mastertone Banjo Sunburst, 2000

Built from 1994 until a devastating flood hit Nashville in 2010, the Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard banjo reproduced the classic banjo that used by Scruggs. At first, the model was just named ‘Earl Scruggs’. The word ‘Standard’ was added in 1992, because two newer Scruggs models were introduced for the 1992 year, the ’49 Classic and the Golden Deluxe.
