The current Fender American Professional Telecaster Deluxe Shawbucker maintains its heritage while adding a few new modern features. The new Deep C neck profile of the Fender American Professional Telecaster Deluxe adds more mass and an altered geometry that provides a smooth and natural feel that works equally well for chords and single note lines.
American Vintage
The Fender American Vintage 72 Telecaster recreates a version of the Telecaster built from 1972 to 1981, a major change from the Tele Custom introduced in 1959. For 1959 with the introduction of Rosewood fingerboards, Fender introduced an ‘upmarket’ Telecaster Custom, with the new Rosewood board and a body with binding around the top and back. The rest of the guitar was standard Telecaster. However, by 1972, Fender Marketing was feeling pressured because of its close association with thin and bright single coil pickups, while Gibson was almost synonymous with fat sounding humbuckers.

MORE →Fender from time to time delivers Limited Edition models, like this Fender Limited Edition Two Tone Telecaster Thinline with bound Fiesta Red top, white finished back, and Rosewood fingerboard! These were built in small numbers, and are not common to see in catalogs or promotions. In the late 1960, Fender’s hunt for new designs continued and this led to the hiring of German luthier Roger Rossmeisl, who had been responsible for a number of Rickenbacker’s most successful semi-hollow models and the ‘Cresting Wave’ shape.
