The Pedulla Thunderbolt 5-String bass, like other Pedulla instruments, is built entirely in the USA. It combines a bolt-on two piece 34 inch scale, 1.875 inch nut width maple neck with rosewood fingerboard and a laminated body, producing a more traditional tone, deep and rich with overtones.

In reaction to the popularity of the Hofner Beatle Bass but wanting to reduce feedback, Vox had these solid-body basses made and they were produced only during 1966.

❌SOLD❌ Ampeg Dan Armstrong Plexiglass Fretless Bass, 1969

Here we have an Ampeg Dan Armstrong Plexiglass Fretless Bass, built in 1969 likely at the Ampeg facility in Linden, New Jersey. It’s a full 34 inch scale with 1 9/16 nut width, and weights in at 10.34 pounds – this weight is one of the drawbacks of the body material. The neck is maple with a flat-sawn Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard, which at the time was very commonly used on quality instruments. There is some wear to the covering of the pickup, and the body has some light scratching, as expected for an instrument of this age. It appears to be in original condition, with an extra washer added to support the output jack – this is always a vulnerable area.

The Burns Bison Bass was a favourite among session musicians in the Sixties due to its long scale and a very wide range of tones, including the famous Wild Dog setting. Originally built from 1964 to 1965, the Bison Bass has an unmistakable look with its large horned body. Originally issued using the typical Burns scroll headstock, it now uses a more standard 4-a side Fender-esque headstock.
The Burns company was restarted by Barry Gibson in the late 1990s and has been producing reissues of the earlier Burns designs. This Bison Bass dates to 2012 and was built in Korea at a high-quality plant.
