Based on the very successful ‘Cresting Wave’ 4000 series, the Rickenbacker 4004cii ‘Cheyenne’ mixes Maple with Black Walnut (a Canadian ice cream tradition!) for the body, and Maple with Bubinga for the neck and fingerboard. Both the Maple and Black Walnut used on these basses are from sustainable, North American farms; Bubinga is native to West Africa.

The Rickenbacker 620/12, introduced in 1981 is the 12-string version of the cresting-wave solid body 620 six string model, and both are based on the model 625 built from 1962 to 1977, a design by Roger Rossmeisl. Seen here is a Rickenbacker 620/12 in AutumnGlo finish, dated to April or 1993 at Santa Ana, California. It is in overall good condition with light play and finish wear.

One of the iconic rock basses, the Rickenbacker 4001 bass was built as a two-pickup version of the 4000 bass, adding a neck pickup to the distinctive Cresting Wave body design by German luthier and designer Roger Rossmeisl. Built from 1961 to somewhere between 1983 and 1985 when it was replaced by the 4003 bass, the Rickenbacker 4001 bass features a Maple body and through-body Maple neck, with a bound and finished Indian Rosewood fingerboard.

The Rickenbacker Model 4003W (W indicating the use of Walnut) was first unveiled in 2014. This variant of the standard 4003 is constructed with a Maple through-neck center section and fingerboard, along with Walnut body and head extensions. This particular model was produced during the 8th week of 2015 at the Santa Ana, California facility, like all other Rickenbacker guitars.

Here we have a very clean, great condition Rickenbacker 620 in MapleGlo finish (gloss natural), dated to late March of 2012 in Santa Ana, California. The Rickenbacker 620 was introduced in 1974 and its roots draw from the very late 1950’s model 450, a solidbody featuring the Cresting Wave body shape designed by Roger Rossmeisl. Construction of the Rickenbacker 620 is simple, with a through-neck design using Maple for the two-piece neck and body wings, and Indian Rosewood for the bound fingerboard.
