❌SOLD❌ Gibson Les Paul Custom 20th Anniversary Sunburst, 1974

Built during 1974 in Kalamazoo Michigan, this Gibson Les Paul Custom 20th Anniversary sports a Sunburst finish and gold plated hardware. As a commemorative model, the 15th fret mother of pearl block position marker is engraved with ’20th Anniversary’. This Gibson Les Paul Custom 20th Anniversary is in overall good but not entirely original condition. The nitrocellulose lacquer sunburst finish is in decent condition, as expected for a 47 year old guitar that’s been used as expected. There is wear to the finish along the edges of the fingerboard and on the neck where it’s rested on supports in the case.

❌SOLD❌ La Esperanza Classe 1000 Concert Classical Guitar, 1979

❌SOLD❌ La Esperanza Classe 1000 Concert Classical Guitar, 1979

Here we have a nicely kept La Esperanza Classe 1000 classical guitar built during 1979 in the shop of Masaru Matano or his successors in Kurume, Japan. Matano’s shop built the La Esperanza Classe 1000 and lower priced Classe 600 for sale for the company name “Ongaku Geijutsusha Co” and these models were based on Ramirez instruments. The Classe 1000 features a Red Cedar top and double layer Rosewood sides and back, which is not quite the same as laminated. Here, the two layers are of Brazilian Rosewood and are used to reduce overtones and ‘wolf’ tones when the guitar is played loudly.

❌SOLD❌ Laskin Cedar Top Steel String Guitar, 1977

❌SOLD❌ Laskin Cedar Top Steel String Guitar, 1977

It’s perhaps an odd thing, but guitars from very highly skilled builders, like this William Laskin Cedar Top Steel String are often in pristine condition and this can lead the builder to wonder if the owner doesn’t like them enough to play them. This Laskin Cedar Top Steel String was built, signed and dated during 1977 at Laskin’s Toronto shop and has a serial number, 250477, stamped on the neck block. The top is Red Cedar, with Indian Rosewood for the sides, back, and head plate. The body blocks and neck are Mahogany, with Ebony used for the fingerboard and bridge.

Here is a bit of history – Jeff Healey’s Jackson Siamese Doubleneck, purchased in 1988 while recording the Roadhouse soundtrack and used during many performances and recordings! The Jeff Healey Band consisted of Jeff Healey on guitars, Joe Rockman on bass, and Tom Stephen on drums. The band’s material was heavily influenced by blues-rock styles, and eventually folded as Healey’s interests moved towards jazz. Jeff Healey died of cancer in 2008, aged 41.
