❌SOLD❌ Fender Limited Edition Two Tone Telecaster Thinline Fiesta Red Top, 1999

❌SOLD❌ Fender Limited Edition Two Tone Telecaster Thinline Fiesta Red Top, 1999

Fender from time to time delivers Limited Edition models, like this Fender Limited Edition Two Tone Telecaster Thinline with bound Fiesta Red top, white finished back, and Rosewood fingerboard!  These were built in small numbers, and are not common to see in catalogs or promotions.  In the late 1960, Fender’s hunt for new designs continued and this led to the hiring of German luthier Roger Rossmeisl, who had been responsible for a number of Rickenbacker’s most successful semi-hollow models and the ‘Cresting Wave’ shape.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson ES330TD Thinline Cherry, 1966

❌SOLD❌ Gibson ES330TD Thinline Cherry, 1966

The design for the Gibson ES330TD – the TD stands for Two Pickup, Double Cutaway – was an outgrowth of Gibson president Ted McCarty’s desire to offer a new, modern guitar to jazz players. The first item on the list was double cutaways, which at the time were not available on really any archtop guitars. The first model to use this format, and with a solid center block to reduce feedback, was the 1958 ES-335. The ES-355 and ES-345 soon followed, and to round out the line, the fully hollow Gibson ES300TD was added.

❌SOLD❌ Fender Precision Bass Sunburst, 1964

❌SOLD❌ Fender Precision Bass Sunburst, 1964

Introduced in 1954, the Fender Precision Bass was quickly adopted by bass players. It was an elegant solution to a few large problems related to the large size of an upright bass, its tendency to feed back as amplified volumes consistently rose, and the ease with which notes could be out of tune on a fretless fingerboard. The P Bass was compact, lightweight, durable and reliable, would not feed back, and would be precisely in tune with the rest of the band.

❌SOLD❌ PRS CE24 Solidbody Tobacco Sunburst, 1991

The PRS CE24 solidbody combines a number of classic themes, and in fact CE24 stands for ‘Classic Electric 24 Frets’. The body is the typical PRS combination of a double cutaway with carved Maple top on a Mahogany slab back, and the bolt-on neck is Maple with an Indian Rosewood fingerboard. This example was built during 1991 at the PRS shop in Stevensville, Maryland, and carries a tobacco sunburst. The hardware includes PRS locking tuners, a PRS vintage style trem bridge, and a pair of uncovered humbuckers.

❌SOLD❌ Taylor T5 C2 Ebony Top Thinline, 2008

❌SOLD❌ Taylor T5 C2 Ebony Top Thinline, 2008

The Taylor T5 C2 is now discontinued in favour of other T5 models, but is an excellent example of form meeting functional needs – its original purpose was to take the place of multiple instruments on a tour stage. Here we’re looking at a Taylor T5 C2 model with a strikingly figured Ebony top, built during 2008 at the Taylor plant in El Cajon, California. The finish itself is very clean and only very lightly marked. The hardware is gold plated, and the inlays are a mix of Abalone, acrylic and Mother of Pearl.
