For years, we’ve been convinced that many guitar players would love to add a Baritone guitar to their stable of guitars but were held back but the high price tag of these specialized instruments. Needless to say, we are very pleased with the quality of woods, materials and tone from the Walden Baritone and more than that – thrilled with the low price!

The Martin 000-28 is a guitar delivering bold and complex tone in a package with timeless style. The 000-28 is a small-bodied guitar with a tight waist. This smaller body shape works really well for players with a light to medium touch, as you don’t have to drive the top as hard to produce tone. The classic pairing of Sitka spruce top and Indian rosewood sides and back on the Martin 000-28 produces a rich and full-bodied tone with plenty of complex overtones. The x bracing pattern of the top is scalloped which removes some mass and allows the top to vibrate more increasing volume and bass response.
The Alhambra Crossover CSLR is, as the name suggests, a crossover model, aimed at players coming from the steel string world who want the responsive expression nylon strings can provide. Built in Muro de Alcoy, Alicante, Spain, the Alhambra Crossover CSLR features a solid Red Cedar top, with Indian Rosewood for the sides, back, head plate, fingerboard and bridge. The body is based on a standard classical design but includes a cutaway and shaped heel.
Introduced in 1938 and in constant production since then, the Gibson SJ200 is one of the largest and most recognisable steel string models. Here we’re looking at a very nicely preserved Gibson SJ200 dating to 1951 and built at the Parsons Street plant in Kalamazoo, Michigan. It is in overall rather good condition with some wear, but less than we often see on guitars approaching the 70 year old mark.
Here is a very nice Gibson SJ 200 Standard – the SJ standing for Super Jumbo – in Vintage Sunburst and built during 2015 in Bozeman, Montana. The name has varied over time, starting as the SJ-200 from 1938 to 1954, then abbreviated to J-200 until 1999 when it became the SJ-200 again. This model has been a favourite with a wide range of guitarists, from Gene Autry to Jimmy Page, Pete Townsend to Tex Ritter.
