The ‘16’ in the name refers to the mandolin serial number and production sequence. This fine instrument was very recently finished, in January of 2023.

The ‘14’ in the name refers to the mandolin serial number and production sequence; the Fin Mc 8 mandolin was sold recently. The Fintan McEnroe Fin MC14 is a traditional F-Style mandolin, with a carved Sitka Spruce top and Curly Maple for the sides, neck and carved back.

The Martin D35, recognizable for its distinctive three-piece back, has been part of Martin’s standard lineup since its 1965 introduction. The design was generated for a practical reason – it allowed use of smaller sections of Rosewood that could not fit on a two-piece back as used on the D-28 or D-45. While the D28 and D35 share many construction features, the D35 can have a bit more tonal range and better developed low and high end response and balance.

Here we have the Fintan McEnroe Fin MC9 F-style mandolin from Fintan McEnroe, working in Toronto but originally from Ballyjamesduff, Co. Cavan, Ireland. The ‘9’ in the name refers to the mandolin serial number and production sequence; the Fin Mc 8 mandolin was sold recently. The Fintan McEnroe Fin MC9 is a traditional F-Style mandolin, with a carved Sitka Spruce top and Curly Maple for the sides, neck and carved back. The fingerboard and bridge are Ebony and the neck contains an adjustable truss rod. The body has double layer binding, and the inlays are a combination of Mother of Pearl and Abalone.
