❌SOLD❌ Gibson ES 345 1964 Reissue Cherry, 2017

❌SOLD❌ Gibson ES 345 1964 Reissue Cherry, 2017

The Gibson ES 345 appeared in 1958 as one of the two ‘upmarket’ versions of the ground breaking new ES-335, and featured a Varitone switch and Stereo outputs. Here we’re looking at a Gibson ES 345 in its 1964 Reissue form, built during 2017 at the now-closed Memphis, Tennessee plant. This lovely piece is in very good condition with negligible wear.
The body and neck are built in the traditional manner, with Maple Laminate used for the top, back and sides and a solid Maple center block.

❌SOLD❌ Fender Precision Bass Sunburst, 1959

❌SOLD❌ Fender Precision Bass Sunburst, 1959

This is an exceptional treat – a Fender Precision Bass Sunburst dated to January of 1959, with the original tweed case, possibly original but certainly period strap, and brought in with the 1957 Fender Bassman amp (sold separately) the owner used in a band called the “Down Unders”. Leo Fender introduced the Precision Bass in 1952, following the lead of the very successful Telecaster line. The use of the term ‘Precision’ in the name refers to the addition of frets to the bass. Until this time, bass players used fretless upright basses, and so pitches could vary from time to time.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson ESDP 335 Tobacco Sunburst, 2011

❌SOLD❌ Gibson ESDP 335 Tobacco Sunburst, 2011

The Gibson ESDP 335 was a limited production model built at the now-closed Gibson Memphis plant, over the course of several years. The ESDP designation expands to “Electric Spanish Dot Neck Plain Top”, and is otherwise a standard ES-335 dot neck model. Gibson introduced the ES-335 as a new ground-breaking concept for their 1958 model year. Ted McCarty, then President of Gibson, had the idea to combine traditional arch top guitar tone with solid body sustain and feedback resistance.
