Here we have a very nice Harrison GB Custom with Sapele Pomelle top, built at Douglas Harrison’s shop in Toronto Canada during 2013. Originally the outgrowth of a guitar custom built for the late Gary Benson, a well known Toronto jazz guitarist and educator, the Harrison GB has proven itself popular with an increasing number of players – including Harrison himself at his own gigs!

Harrison NJ Custom Archtop Guitar Natural, 2022

Here is a brand new Douglas Harrison NJ Custom, with a carved Sitka Spruce top and flamed Big Leaf Maple for the sides, back and neck. Featuring a 16 inch wide body, this new Harrison NJ Custom also uses Macassar Ebony for the bridge, tailpiece, head plate, Laskin style arm rest, and a segmented sound port on the upper bass side. The frets are stainless steel medium jumbo, and it should be years before they require any service.

Harrison GB Blister Maple Sunburst, 2021

Here we have a brand new Harrison GB Blister Maple with its spectacular figuring emphasised by a hand-rubbed sunburst lacquer finish! The Harrison GB design originated as a custom order from the late Gary Benson, a prominent Toronto jazz guitarist and educator. The concept is a thin chambered Tropical Mahogany (Swietenia Macrophylla) body with a hand-carved Maple top with F-holes, a Mahogany neck with Ebony fingerboard, usually an Ebony bridge and a single humbucking pickup in the neck position.

Harrison GB Custom Honeyburst, 2015 – (No Longer Available)

The Harrison GB Custom has become a very successful instrument for jazz guitarists, and was developed with the late Gary Benson, a prominent Toronto player and teacher. This Harrison GB Custom features a Quilted Maple cap on a chambered Mahogany body and a Mahogany neck with a Maple-bound Ebony fingerboard fitted with Stainless Steel frets. The custom built tailpiece is also Ebony.

Harrison 17 Inch Archtop Natural, 2000

Here is a Douglas Harrison 17 inch Archtop cutaway guitar, built at Harrison’s shop in Toronto, Ontario during 2000. This model is now referred to as a ‘Classic Jazz’ or CJ. This excellent instrument is built in the traditional archtop model, pairing a hand carved, solid Spruce top with a hand carved Flame Maple back.
