❌ SOLD ❌ Olivo Chiliquinga Requinto Guitar, 1982

This very nicely built Olivo Chiliquinga Requinto Guitar was built in Toronto, Canada during 1982 by Olivo Chiliquinga at his Olivo Guitar Company workshop. It is constructed with a Cedar top, Indian Rosewood for the back, sides, headplate and bridge, mahogany for the neck and ebony for the fingerboard. The tuners are quality Schaller models, gold-coloured with faux pearl buttons. It also sports a set of the original Twelfth Fret bridge transducer pickups, mounted to an end-pin jack. This wonderful instrument plays well and is in overall good condition, with a few small marks on the top and back acquired over the last 36 years. A hard shell case, possibly the original, is included and is in working order.

❌SOLD❌ Albert J Litto 7 Course Renaissance Lute, 1965

Here we have an Albert J Litto 7 Course Renaissance Lute, built during 1965 in Kenmore, New York.  This lovely Renaissance lute demonstrates many traditional construction techniques. The bowl back is composed of flamed maple ribs, bent and joined. Inside the bowl, the ribs are sealed with parchment tape, made wet to induce expansion, then coated with hide glue. The water on the inside forces the ribs to curve from side to side, and the hardening glue keeps them in this shape.

Edgar Monch was one of the more important classical guitar builders from Munich, the other being Hermann Hauser. Monch lived for some time in Toronto where he was also a highly influential teacher for many 1960’s and 1970’s Canadian luthiers including Jean Larrivee. This Edgar Monch Classical Guitar is built in the traditional Spanish ‘slipper heel’ design, with the sides tied into the neck block. The top is Spruce, the sides, back, headplate and bridge are Indian Rosewood. The neck is Mahogany with an Ebony fingerboard.

❌ SOLD ❌ Eastman E20D-SB Dreadnought Steel String Guitar Sunburst, 2005

❌ SOLD ❌ Eastman E20D-SB Dreadnought Steel String Guitar Sunburst, 2005

The Eastman E20D is the less decorated cousin to the Eastman E40D we posted recently, but even without the decorations it’s an impressive and classy guitar.
This example was built at the Eastman plant in China during 2005 and has been both played in and well looked after. It’s set up for bluegrass use, meaning that the action is a little higher for spirited playing, competing with other percussively loud instruments like banjos and mandolins.
