❌SOLD❌ C. F. Martin 00018 Steel String Guitar, 2017

The very first C. F. Martin 00018 steel string guitar appeared in 1906 with a Maple body, then with Rosewood until 1917, and finally built using Mahogany for the body in small numbers until 1926, when 224 were sold. Annual production stayed in the mid-hundreds until 1972, when 650 were built. It has been in production since, with the exception of 1932 and 1933, when none were built. The C. F. ❌SOLD❌ William Laskin Steel String Guitar Brazilian, 2005

❌SOLD❌ William Laskin Steel String Guitar Brazilian, 2005

This William Laskin Steel String was built at Laskin’s shop in Toronto, Ontario during 2005, and features a Red Cedar top and quite a dark set of Brazilian Rosewood for the back and sides. The body blocks and neck are Mahogany, with Ebony used for the head plate, fingerboard bridge and binding. The rosette has a ring of Abalone, but otherwise this guitar is quite simply but elegantly adorned;  a line of purfling follows the complete top including around the arm-rest and around the fingerboard tag.

❌SOLD❌ William Laskin Custom Steel String for Bill Collings, 1992

❌SOLD❌ William Laskin Custom Steel String for Bill Collings, 1992

This William Laskin Custom is very unusual – built to order during 1992 by one of Canada’s finest luthiers for one of the USA’s best – the late Bill Collings. William Laskin began building guitars during 1971 with an apprenticeship to Jean Larrivee. He is well known for the very high quality of his guitar construction, and also for the inventiveness and complexity of his engraved inlay work, much of which is spectacular.

❌SOLD❌ Lawrence Nyberg Cittern Black Walnut and Redwood, 2018

This lovely Lawrence Nyberg Cittern pairs a Redwood top and Black Walnut for the sides, back, and back strap (an extra layer on the back of the head). The neck is Mahogany, with Ebony used for the fingerboard and its binding, bridge, and the head plate. A K&K pickup is installed and connected to and end pin jack. Unusually for an instrument of this type, a steel string guitar-style ebony pin bridge is used rather than a floating bridge with an additional tailpiece.
