The Gretsch ’59 Silver Jet is a very cool guitar, with all the late-50’s trappings – Bigsby, TV Jones Classic Filter’Tron based pickups, and a standout silver sparkle finish! The Gretsch Jet is an under-rated guitar, but has appeared on many hit recordings. Chet Atkins used one on many classic recordings, and the first few Beatles albums feature George Harrison with his Jet.

In the 1980s, the great Jazz guitarist George Benson entered into a collaboration with Ibanez to produce a series of signature archtop electric guitars, including the Ibanez George Benson GB10 BS and its fancier sisters. These guitars were immediately popular with other jazz players, because the design addresses real needs. The body is comfortably compact, and while its hollow, F-hole body design provides real archtop resonance, responsiveness and ‘thump’, the solid spruce top is carved to dramatically reduce feedback at performance volumes.

This Gretsch G6112TCB-WF Limited Edition Falcon Jr. in Vintage White, is a great little guitar and is a new model. Blending influences from three sources – the classic Gretsch White Falcon, the Jet body design, and the new Gretsch Players models. Aside from being very flashy, this is a great playing and sounding guitar.
Every once in a while, something built as a promotional item for an industry trade show really takes off, gets more intention than expected and is put into production. This was the case with the 1954 Gretsch White Falcon, intended to show off the elegance and quality of the Gretsch electric archtop line at the 1954 NAMM trade show in California.

❌SOLD❌ Jackson Stars SL-2H Neck Through Made In Japan, Black, 1990

The Jackson Stars line featured a number of familiar Jackson models and was built in Japan with very high quality, with importation limited 1990 and 1991. Subsequently, sales of these pro-level models was limited to the Japanese market. These followed the successful Charvel series, and began in 1990. In 1992, production of bolt-on models began and importation of that line continued. This Jackson Stars SL-2H, Made In Japan and according to its serial number, during 1990. On these guitars, the serial number is an impressed stamp located on the body end of the fingerboard. It’s a six digit number, with the first digit indicating the year, counting from 1990.

The Ibanez George Benson GB10 BS is still in production as are other versions of the model, and they are as practical as when introduced. This model features two ‘floating’ mini-humbucking pickups, one attached to the fingerboard tag and the other to the pickguard. Neither contacts the top though the pickguard has a small support post. The Gretsch G6120 DS Nashville is based on 1955-56 6120 models equipped with single coil deArmond DynaSonic pickups. Built for a short time starting in 2003, it is a ‘dressed down’ version of the G6120 DSV – it lacks the Western-style decorative G brand on the body and engraved block inlays.
