❌SOLD❌ Gibson Les Paul Classic P90 Ebony Black, 2018

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Les Paul Classic P90 Ebony Black, 2018

Here’s a real beauty – a 2018 Gibson Les Paul Classic P90 model in Ebony Black with a pair of black-covered P-90 pickups. Visually, this Gibson Les Paul Classic P90 is very striking and you can see why the term ‘Black Beauty’ was used for the initial 1954 Les Paul Customs, which had a bridge 90 and a ‘Staple Top’ AlNiCo pickup in the neck position.

Gibson Les Paul Standard Cherry Sunburst, 1980

Gibson Les Paul Standard Cherry Sunburst, 1980

Here’s a Gibson Les Paul Standard Cherry Sunburst dating to October 17, 1980, sporting a Cherry Sunburst finish and a non-weight relieved, non-pancake body! The Les Paul model was introduced in 1952 as Gibson’s entry into the then-new soldibody ‘Spanish’ electric guitar field, where ‘Spanish’ refers to the way the guitar is held. Solidbody Hawaiian models had been available for some time, and Gibson had been producing electrified archtop guitars since the 1936 ES-150.

❌SOLD❌ Gretsch Brian Setzer Signature 6120SSU Nashville, Orange Flame, 1997

The Gretsch Brian Setzer 6120SSU, built from 1993 to 2014, was one of the earlier of the Setzer Signature models based on the 1960 6120s used in the Stray Cats, Brian Setzer Orchestra and various solo projects. Introduced in 1954 as a Chet Atkins model, the Gretsch 6120 featured a fully hollow, 16 inch wide and 2 7/8 inch deep Maple Laminate body with bound F holes, tone bar / sound post bracing and a Maple neck with Rosewood or Ebony fingerboard and bridge base.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Les Paul TV Special, 1958

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Les Paul TV Special, 1958

The Gibson  Les Paul TV Special was introduced in 1955 as a midway point between the also newly introduced Les Paul Junior and the Les Paul itself. Like the Junior, the Special used Honduran Mahogany for the body – no carved Maple cap like the Les Paul – and the neck, and Rosewood for the fingerboard. The Special, however, had two P-90 pickups and a bound fingerboard; at the time, ‘Rosewood’ meant Brazilian Rosewood.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut Reissue, 2007

❌SOLD❌ Gibson 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut Reissue, 2007

The Gibson 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut Reissue is a great take on a classic, straight ahead solidbody that delivers plenty of tone via a pair of P-90 pickups. Often referred to as the ‘Les Paul DC’, the Les Paul Special first appeared in 1955 along with the Les Paul Junior, both as lower cost alternatives to the carved-top Les Paul model. Aside from lacking the carved Maple cap and simpler hardware, the Special and Junior construction was similar to the carved-top Les Paul.
