❌SOLD❌ Gibson 57 Les Paul Custom Reissue 3 Pickup Bigsby Ebony, 2011

Here’s a very classy and fairly rare guitar – a Gibson 57 Les Paul Custom Reissue 3 Pickup with Bigsby, in Ebony Black with gold plated hardware! This model was marketed as the Black Beauty, and in its original form was configured with ‘Fretless Wonder’ low frets. The Les Paul Model debuted in 1952 with a Maple cap carrying a metallic gold finish, on a natural finish Mahogany back. In 1953, the ‘upmarket’ Les Paul Custom appeared, with a number of significant differences.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Flying V Faded Black, 2007

The Gibson Flying V Faded was built for the decade from 2002 to 2012, and uses a stripped-down concept to deliver a great, high quality working instrument at reduced cost. This model was mostly built with a faded Cherry finish and the black seen here was relatively unusual. Ted McCarty, the president of Gibson introduced the Flying V in 1958, along with the Explorer and the almost mythical Moderne.

❌SOLD❌ Fender Limited Edition Two Tone Telecaster Thinline Fiesta Red Top, 1999

Fender from time to time delivers Limited Edition models, like this Fender Limited Edition Two Tone Telecaster Thinline with bound Fiesta Red top, white finished back, and Rosewood fingerboard!  These were built in small numbers, and are not common to see in catalogs or promotions.  In the late 1960, Fender’s hunt for new designs continued and this led to the hiring of German luthier Roger Rossmeisl, who had been responsible for a number of Rickenbacker’s most successful semi-hollow models and the ‘Cresting Wave’ shape.

❌SOLD❌ Fender Precision Bass Sunburst, 1964

❌SOLD❌ Fender Precision Bass Sunburst, 1964

Introduced in 1954, the Fender Precision Bass was quickly adopted by bass players. It was an elegant solution to a few large problems related to the large size of an upright bass, its tendency to feed back as amplified volumes consistently rose, and the ease with which notes could be out of tune on a fretless fingerboard. The P Bass was compact, lightweight, durable and reliable, would not feed back, and would be precisely in tune with the rest of the band.

❌SOLD❌ Rob Allen MB2 Fretless Bass Walnut, 2010

Here we have a Rob Allen MB2 Fretless Bass, built with a Walnut topped Mahogany body during 2010 at Allen’s shop in Fillmore, California.  Rob Allen designs and builds to his own preferences combining acoustic and electric tonalities. The Allen MB-2 bodies are semi-hollow, and use acoustic style bridges rather than massive metal units. The bridge itself is Rosewood, with a Bone saddle and a built-in Fishman transducer – there is also a volume control on the bridge itself.
