❌SOLD❌ Martin D28L Left Handed Dreadnought, 2007

The Martin D28L is, as the name suggests, the left handed version of the classic D-28 that made its debut in 1931 and immediately became one of the benchmark steel string guitars. Built using the dreadnought ‘D’ body with ’28’ features, it pairs a Sitka Spruce top with Indian Rosewood for the sides, back, head plate and bridge. The neck is Mahogany with a 25.4 inch (645mm) scale length Ebony fingerboard and 1.7 (43.2mm) nut width.

Here’s a lovely Gibson J185 Custom Quilt, one of a run of 65 instruments built with sides and back of a fantastic AAA grade Quilted Maple set. Gibson introduced the J-185 in 1951 and was built until 1958, and production resumed again with updated specs in 1990. During 1962, a new Everly Brothers J-180 was designed. Based on the J-185, that model featured an adjustable bridge, star inlays, and top and bottom pickguards, and that was built till 1972.

❌SOLD❌ Martin M38 Steel String Guitar Natural, 1977

❌SOLD❌ Martin M38 Steel String Guitar Natural, 1977

The Martin M38 uses Martin’s largest non-dreadnought body design, sometimes called the ‘0000’ body because of its size and balanced shape. Martin’s M body draws from a guitar built for David Bromberg by Matt Umanov in the 1960s, which itself is a flat-top conversion of a Martin F-7, an archtop model built between 1935 and 1939, and from 1941 into 1942. The M38 was built from 1977 to 1997, as the 0000-38 from 1997 to 1998, and again as the M38 from 2007 to 2011. Currently Martin builds the M36 as a standard model.
