The PRS McCarty appeared in 1994 and is a tribute to Ted McCarty, president of Gibson from 1950 to 1966, one of its most innovative periods. Paul Reed Smith hired McCarty as a consultant in the late 1980’s and had a strong influence on modern PRS design and production.

Here we’re looking at a Fender American Deluxe Telecaster from the 2005 model year, featuring a lovely slightly metallic Tangerine finish on an Alder body, maple neck with Rosewood fingerboard sporting Abalone position markers. A pearlescent pickguard sets off the finish very nicely. As a bonus, the back has a Strat-style comfort contour.

In reaction to the popularity of the Hofner Beatle Bass but wanting to reduce feedback, Vox had these solid-body basses made and they were produced only during 1966.
