We’re happy to present the Eastman DT30D Double Top, part of Eastman’s new line of double-top steel string guitars – a technology that till now has mostly been limited to high end classical instruments. The double top concept aims to allow a very thin, light and responsive top but with superior strength and stiffness. Here, thin layers of Sitka Spruce are bonded to a honeycomb Nomex core. Nomex is a Kevlar polymer and helps provide significant improvements in stiffness to weight ratios.

MORE →This Gibson ES335 Dot Neck Thinline, built during 1959 features the now standard construction – Maple laminate top, back and sides, Maple center block, Mahogany neck and bound Rosewood fingerboard. For these early models, the Rosewood used was sourced from Brazil – at the time, this was an extremely common wood and used on even low cost instruments. This guitar was originally shipped with a Bigsby tailpiece; this was removed, put in the case, and replaced with a stop tailpiece.

MORE →Based on the ‘Super Strat’ concept with a pair of humbuckers and two-point, non-locking trem, the Charvel ProMod DK24 combines and alder body with roasted maple neck for full, clear tone and fairly lightweight. This is a very comfortable guitar to play for long hours. The locking tuners make short work of string changes under pressure.

MORE →Built from 1994 until a devastating flood hit Nashville in 2010, the Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard banjo reproduced the classic banjo that used by Scruggs. At first, the model was just named ‘Earl Scruggs’. The word ‘Standard’ was added in 1992, because two newer Scruggs models were introduced for the 1992 year, the ’49 Classic and the Golden Deluxe. Gibson Banjos, including the Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard Mastertone Banjo, are no longer available.
