The Martin D-18 has been an iconic, workhorse guitar for decades, used by countless musicians of all skill levels. Its pairing of Spruce and Mahogany for the dreadnought body provide snap, sparkle and definition to a powerful tone. Introduced in 1931 with a 12 fret neck that was extended to 14 frets in 1934, the D-18 has been in constant production.
Here we have a 1971 vintage Martin D-18. It has definitely been used as intended and over the decades, it has experienced the usual wear and stresses. The finish is nicely checked and has the lovely patina

❌NO LONGER AVAILABLE❌ Gibson Country Western Model SJ Natural, 1956

This Gibson Country Western was built during the model’s first year, and is in good playing order. It has had some repairs – it is 62 years old, after all – including some cleated top cracks and over-sprayed finish. The tuners have been replaced with new vintage-style models, and work well. As is typical, the pickguard is lifting a bit. Under the bridge, a sub-plate has been added to the bridge plate due to normal wear. The top is spruce, the back, sides and neck are mahogany, and the fingerboard and bridge are rosewood. The fingerboard is bound and has dual-parallellogram position markers, as an ‘upgrade’ from more basic models like th J-45.

❌ SOLD ❌ Second Life MasterClone Banjo 2014

❌ SOLD ❌ Second Life MasterClone Banjo 2014

Banjo-maker Carl Arcand routinely restores older banjos to give them a ‘second life’ from his Eastern Townships shop in Ulverton, Quebec. This fine example Second Life MasterClone Banjo is still archived on his site. This instrument is assumed to be based on a 60s or 70s Gibson TB-250 ‘donor-banjo’ pot with flathead bronze tone ring and fitted to an Arcand handmade replica neck. The resurrection work was completed and the banjo first sold in 2014. This Second Life MasterClone Banjo is certainly equal or superior to any 70’s original Gibson. It is what we would call a RB-250 Mastertone “clone” banjo or “Master-Clone” banjo.
