The current Fender American Professional Telecaster Deluxe Shawbucker maintains its heritage while adding a few new modern features. The new Deep C neck profile of the Fender American Professional Telecaster Deluxe adds more mass and an altered geometry that provides a smooth and natural feel that works equally well for chords and single note lines.
Wide Range Humbucker
The Fender American Vintage 72 Telecaster recreates a version of the Telecaster built from 1972 to 1981, a major change from the Tele Custom introduced in 1959. For 1959 with the introduction of Rosewood fingerboards, Fender introduced an ‘upmarket’ Telecaster Custom, with the new Rosewood board and a body with binding around the top and back. The rest of the guitar was standard Telecaster. However, by 1972, Fender Marketing was feeling pressured because of its close association with thin and bright single coil pickups, while Gibson was almost synonymous with fat sounding humbuckers.

MORE →Here we have a 1978 Fender Telecaster Thinline, from the second variation produced 1972-1980 at Fullerton, California. For this version the stock Tele pickup set is replaced with a pair of original design, humbucking pickups designed by Seth Lover, and the ‘Ashtray’ bridge shifts to the ‘Hardtail’ model like that found on trem-less Strats. The pickguard has been enlarged to enclose the bridge pickup. This example carries the classic one-piece Fender Maple Neck, with Schaller-designed tuners and the innovative Micro-Tilt 3-bolt neck attachment.
