Built during 2017 in a workshop in Seville, Spain, the Antonio Bernal Especial 10 Concierto guitar is top of the range. It pairs with the Especial 10 Flamenco model, the key differences being the use of Indian Rosewood for the sides and back on the Concierto, and Cypress for the Flamenco.
Antonio Bernal has been selling, repairing and building guitars in Seville since 1993, and has developed a reputation for high quality construction. His label and shop name reads “Alvarez & Bernal” – his name is Antonio Alvarez Bernal.
The Antonio Bernal Especial 10 features a German Spruce top, Indian Rosewood for the sides, back, bridge and head plate, Spanish Cedar for the body blocks and neck, and Ebony for the fingerboard. The top is protected by full tap plates, and the finish is nitrocellulose lacquer. This appears to be a Flamenco Negra model, with low saddle and fairly low action.
This example dates to 2017 and is in very good, clean condition with only light wear. Its voice may not be fully developed, but that will happen with normal use.
This Antonio Bernal Especial 10 is sold with a TKL hard shell case.
