Update!  This Beltona T015 Tricone has just been serviced at The Twelfth Fret Repair shop, and now has new National cones and a fresh fret dress and setup.

The Beltona T105 Tricone was one of the early products of Beltona, founded in the UK by Steve Evans and Bill Johnson in 1990. Respectively a luthier and engineer, Evans and Johnson first sought to build instruments for themselves that were, at the time, not readily available in the UK. In 1998, Beltona moved to New Zealand, where Evans was born and by 2003 Evans was sole owner. The company moved back to the UK in 2013.

Here we’re looking at a relatively early, low serial number Beltona T015 Tricone, built around 1994 and in very nice condition. Built of nickel plated brass with an etched border, the T015 is fairly plain compared to some of the elaborate historical metal bodied instruments. However, it sounds just as good!

Aside from the metal body, the neck is Maple with a bound Ebony fingerboard. The headstock overlay is a faux Mother of Pearl with the Beltona logo decal, overlaid and lacquered over. The neck profile is a pronounced V, similar to many historic instruments and quite comfortable.

This instrument has recently been set up for finger style playing at The Twelfth Fret’s repair shop, plays well and has a great sound.     It can easily be set up for slide / bottleneck use.

A Hiscox light weight flight case is included.
