This is a Brian Moore DC/1P Custom Shop with a fabulous quilted top and Sea Foam Green finish, built during 2001 in LaGrange, New York.

Based on the classic single-cut design, the Brian Moore DC/1P features a carved, Quilted Maple cap on a Mahogany body, a Mahogany set neck, Indian Rosewood fingerboard with custom Mother of Pearl inlays, Maple bindings, Quilted Maple head plate and gold plated hardware. Tuners are locking Sperzel models. There are three pickups (or eight depending on wiring) – a pair of custom Humbuckers and a six-element RMC piezo bridge pickup set. These are summed to the standard 1/4 inch output jack.

This example, serial D325, is in very good, clean condition with only very light wear. The finish is described as ‘Sea Foam Green’ and is lightly shaded, and works very well with the Quilted Maple top.

This guitar plays well and cleanly, and is sold with its original hard shell case.

Brian Moore guitars was formed in 1992 by Patrick Cummings, President, Brian Moore and Kevin Kalagher in LaGrange, NY. Cummings and Moore had been working for Gibson and Steinberger respectively, and Kalagher ran a business that did work with Steinberger.  The three created the company at the time that Gibson, owner of the Steinberger brand, moved Steinberger operations to Nashville from New York; as has happened with other transitions like this (for example, Guild and Heritage) some, including Brian Moore, opted not to move.

Here’s the builder on the Brian Moore DC/1P:

The DC/1P was created to meet the demands of players who prefer the 24 3/4″ scale. It is a joint design effort between Master Luthier Tom Doyle and Patrick Cummings. Patrick met Tom Doyle in 1996 at a Scott Chinery “Blue Guitar” event and asked Tom if he would like to create a guitar that blended the some of Toms’ designs with the our unique ideas such as “comfort contoured top” and “sculpted headstock”. Tom is the chosen luthier and long time sound engineer for the legendary Les Paul himself. His 40 plus years in the music industry have been spent on a quest for the perfect tone. His clients and friends include Al Dimeola, George Benson, Sting and Jimmy Page. We are proud to have Tom and his influence on our team.
