Brand: Eastman
Instrument Categories: Archtop, Electric, Guitars, Left Handed
The Eastman AR910CE LH – Left Handed – is pretty much the top of the Eastman line of archtop electrics, with solid wood throughout and carved top and back. It’s fairly unusual to see an available high quality left-handed archtop.
The top and its bracing are solid Spruce, paired with nicely flamed and matched Flame Maple for the sides and back. The body blocks and linings are Mahogany. The neck is also figured Maple, but built in three pieces for stability.
The bridge, tailpiece, and bound fingerboard and pickguard are Ebony. The head plate seems to be Indian Rosewood. The binding for the body, neck and head, plus the Eastman logo, are Maple.
The pickup is a floating Johnny Smith style, mounted to the pickguard and fingerboard tag. Current models are built by Lollar, but in the past Kent Armstrong models have been used. Interestingly, the pickup is mounted ‘backwards’ – it is apparently from a right-hand model – and the Eastman logo impressed on its top is upside down!
This Eastman AR910CE LH dates to 2004 and has been used as intended, and consequently has some visual signs of wear. Fret wear however appears to be very light, suggesting recent service and setup, and the guitar plays well and cleanly.
This Eastman AR910CE LH is sold with its original hard shell case.
