❌SOLD❌ Eastman MD915SB F Style Mandolin Sunburst, 2016

Instrument Categories: ,

The Eastman MD915SB F Style mandolin follows the classic bluegrass style instruments pioneered in the early part of the 20th century by Orville Gibson and Lloyd Loar. These instruments departed steeply from all previous mandolins, in that they merged violin family concepts with the mandolin design. Traditional European mandolins generally had bowl backs and flat tops, which limited both their comfort and potential for delivering sound at a higher volume. Traditional mandolins started to disappear almost immediately after the new A and F style instruments appeared.

Eastman is one of the largest builders of stringed instruments, guitars, mandolins, and the full violin and cello family and all their relatives.

Here we’re looking at a very nice Eastman MD915SB F Style mandolin built during 2016. Built in the traditional manner with carved Adirondack Spruce top, carved Flame Maple back, Flame Maple again for the sides and neck, and Ebony for the head plate, fingerboard and bridge.  There are no electronics installed.

The finish is a nitrocellulose lacquer vintage style sunburst.

This Eastman MD915SB F Style mandolin is in very good condition, with only the slightest wear, and no fret wear. These mandolins sound great and play well.

The original Eastman rectangular hard shell case is included.
