Eastman PCH1 OM Orchestra Model Steel String Guitar, Natural

Brand:

Instrument Categories: ,

The all-new Eastman PCH1 OM model really hits a sweet spot for players looking for upgraded features at an affordable price. One of the main features on this model is the solid Sitka spruce top, paired with a laminate Sapele body.  And at this price, it’s a great gift for anyone – including yourself!

This model is also availabe in a larger Dreadnought model, the PCH1 D.  Click here for more details!

The top or sound board is one of the main components in tone production on an acoustic guitar. While laminate tops have more durability they are stiff and don’t vibrate well. The solid top vibrates with the energy of the strings and produces tone, and its ability to do this develops over time with playing.   This is a guitar that will grow with you!

Laminate tops, found on many other guitars in this price range,  are very stable and helpful when you can’t control the humidity – particularly in winter –  but they do not develop tonally.   Here, the solid Sitka Spruce top is  mounted with a laminate Sapele body, reducing cost and improving stability.  The neck is solid Mahogany, with Indian Rosewood for the fingerboard and bridge.    The finish is a simple ‘open pore’ lacquer,  with little filler and not buffed to gloss.  Here we see this model with a ‘natural’ finish,  but it is also available in a ‘Classic’ stained finish, rather like a violin’s sunburst.

The Eastman PCH1 OM uses a classic Orchestra Model body shape that sits very comfortably in the lap while seated due to the smaller lower bout and curvy waist. It works really well for light to medium strumming and finger style playing.

The neck profile of the Eastman PCH1 OM is comfortable for most players and the combination of open pore and satin finish make for a lovely rustic aesthetic. Getting started with a comfortable and affordable acoustic guitar has never been as good as it is right now.

This model is also available with a ‘Classic’ stained top, reminiscent of a violin finish.

The Eastman PCH1 OM model is sold without case. Hardshell cases start at $100, and well padded gig bags at $60.
