❌SOLD❌ Epiphone Granada E444T Thinline Archtop Sunburst, 1965

Instrument Categories: , , , ,

The Epiphone Granada E444T is much like the Gibson ES-125T, and was built in the Gibson Kalamazoo plant from 1962 to 1970. A non-cutaway thinline archtop, the Granada E444T has a large plastic plate that mounts the controls and a Melody Maker style single coil pickup.

This Epiphone Granada E444T dates to 1965 and features an all Maple laminate, thin archtop body with F-holes, Mahogany neck with Rosewood for the fingerboard and bridge. Given the date of production and the grain pattern, the Rosewood is likely from Brazil.

The molded creme-coloured plastic pickguard carries the pickup, volume and tone controls, plus the output jack. It is solid, though there is a small crack at one of the mounting screw holes. A trapeze tailpiece and Kluson Deluxe strip tuners with white plastic buttons complete the hardware.

The sunburst nitrocellulose lacquer finish has faded nicely, and there is natural checking around the instrument. There are a few small dings and scratches on the back, but otherwise it is in good condition.

This Epiphone Granada E444T is light, and the fingerboard is fairly narrow at less than 1.6 inches (40mm). Fretwear is light to moderate (heavier in the lowest positions, as usual).

Like an acoustic, the neck joins the body at the 14th fret, so the nut is physically closer to the body than on many electrics – it’s less of a reach to play the low positions. While it is a full scale guitar, it feels smaller than it is. The action is set at a normal low position and there is plenty of room on the bridge for adjustment.

A newer Epiphone-branded hard shell case is included.
