Ernie Ball Music Man Axis SuperSport Translucent Teal, 2001

Brand:

Instrument Categories: , ,

An upgraded version of the Ernie Ball Music Man Axis, the Axis SuperSport carries all the features and reliability of the Axis in a versatile and attractive package.

Like the Axis, the Axis SuperSport is based on the proven combination of a Maple-capped Basswood body and a Maple neck. The SuperSport models add figured Maple for the top and oiled, figured and asymmetrically carved Maple for the neck, and the top finish is matched on the headstock front. The electronics are a bit more elaborate than the Axis, with a 5 way switch offering split-coil configuration. To round out the hardware, locking tuners are at the head and the body carries the Ernie Ball MusicMan ‘Vintage’ style trem bridge.

This Ernie Ball Axis SuperSport dates to October 26 2001 at the MusicMan plant in San Luis Obispo, California and carries a lovely translucent Teal Maple top and matching headstock; as is usually the case for these models, the Basswood back of the body has a gloss Black finish while the neck is treated with a combination of oil and wax. It is in very good clean condition with very light wear.

The original molded Music Man hard shell case is included.

Here is Ernie Ball Music Man on the Axis SuperSport:

“The Axis Super Sport has all the great features of the Axis guitar with a few upgraded options for ultimate versatility. Beautiful quilt or flame maple veneer over basswood with custom DiMarzio electronics are controlled by a five-way lever switch offering split coil tonal combinations unavailable on the Axis.

The Axis Super Sport asymmetric hard rock maple neck allows for comfortable hand and finger positions across all 22 frets, while the Music Man vintage style tremolo and locking Schaller tuners make string changing quick and easy keeping the guitar perfectly in tune.”
