Here’s a great playing Fender 57 Hot Rod Stratocaster in a 3-tone sunburst. The tuners have been upgraded to Gotoh SD91 HAP-M vintage-style locking tuners. The original Fender tuners are also included in the case.

This guitar has a replacement Fender body, because the finish on the original body was flawed. The body was replaced under warranty by Fender when the guitar was originally purchased in 2011, and installed by the 12fret. All other parts are original.

Introduced around 2007, the Fender 57 Hot Rod Stratocaster hews closely to the original design with one piece Maple neck and Alder body, but the hardware has a number of factory upgrades, some not immediately apparent. The bridge pickup, a DiMarzio Tone Zone S humbucker immediately draws the eye; the other pickups are Fender SCN single-coil models. The wiring is updated, extending the lower tone control effect to the bridge pickup. The finish is a thin-skin Nitrocellulose lacquer, but with a satin effect on the back of the neck to reduce stickiness.

At the head, the Fender 57 Hot Rod Strat looks vintage, but the tuners are Gotoh HAP locking models. These use a discreet slotted post, allowing them to fit right into standard Kluson style holes.

Built during 2011, this Fender 57 Hot Rod Stratocaster is in good shape with light to moderate wear.

The original Fender Tweed rectangular hard shell case is included.

Here is a description taken from our original 2010 post on the Fender 57 Hot Rod:

“In terms of sound, the ’57 Hot Rod delivers exactly what it claims; classic Strat tones with a little extra kick. A pair of SCN hum canceling pickups in the neck and middle positions ring out with the clear chime and bell like mids I expect from any nice Strat. The only thing missing is the ’60 cycle’ hum typical of a standard single coil pickup (cue massive sigh of relief… now). Switching to the bridge pickup, I let loose with every cheesy eighties lead riff I could remember, and the Dimarzio Tone Zone handled it with ease; all the while retaining the edge and attack I look for in a Strat. This bridge pickup provides a full, aggressive, yet musical tone perfect for those moments when you need a little extra kick from your guitar.”
