From 2013 and in great condition, here is a Fender American Special Jazzmaster in Sunburst with a hard-tail bridge and tailpiece setup in place of the original trem unit. It also has Jazzmaster style humbucking pickups and simplified controls; he preset switches and thumbwheels are gone. It’s straight ahead playing.
For many players, this is a serious upgrade from the original Jazzmaster! The new bridge provides solid, reliable intonation and better control of the string geometry. It’s much more stable when played heavily.
The revolutionary alder offset body with comfort contours is still there, with a glowing gloss urethane sunburst or black finish. The Maple neck has both a Walnut ‘Skunk Stripe’ on the back from the truss rod installation, and also a Slab-style, flat bottom Rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers.
Built during 2013 in Corona, California, this Fender American Special Jazzmaster has very little wear of any kind. There is a small smudge on the chrome neck plate, but that’s about it for wear.
This Fender American Special Jazzmaster is sold with its original hard shell case.
