Fender CS 1956 Stratocaster NOS Fiesta Red 2005

Brand:

Instrument Categories: , ,

This Fender CS 1956 Stratocaster was built at the Corona California plant and unlike the ‘Relic’ versions is the New Old Stock – NOS – form.

Introduced in 1954 as Leo Fender’s third major instrument design after the Telecaster and Precision Bass, the Stratocaster has become one of the most used models. Custom colours were offered immediately, though it’s not really possible to know exactly what was used – the customer was able to order DuPont Duco colours at a 5% surcharge. One of the earliest custom colors was a Gold finish Stratocaster for Eldon Shamblin, guitarist for Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys, and what became Fiesta Red. Fender’s custom colors were not standardized until 1960.

This Fender CS 1956 Stratocaster was built during 2005 in the Corona Custom Shop and is in very good, clean condition – it’s hardly been played and the original protective plastic is still on the pickguard! Wear to the finish is very light, though there is a small light scuff on the back near the tail strap pin. The neck has a fuller V profile, and is very comfortable.

Sold with its original Tweed hard shell case.
