The Fender Jeff Beck Stratocaster, here as an Olympic White 2006 custom shop build, recognizes Beck’s needs for sonic versatility and tuning stability. Unusually for top flight rock players, Jeff Beck plays fingerstyle, without picks, and his heavy use of the trem bridge is part of his unmistakable sound.

In the mid 1960’s, Jeff Beck was one of three top English players closely associated with the Telecaster – Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page were the other two. The availability of the Stratocaster with its trem bridge opened up vast territory for Beck, and he explored it relentlessly. Much of his work since has used the Strat, and you will see him use this signature model on stages.

The Jeff Beck Stratocaster has several features to improve the pitch return of the trem bridge. You will notice the LSR Roller nut, which almost entirely removes friction and binding at the nut. Sperzel locking tuners keep the number of post wraps to a minimum, and their short posts remove the need for friction-causing string trees. The two-post bridge dramatically reduces the friction at the pivot points. On this guitar, the spring claw, seen in the open back, is angled slightly – this simple adjustment, detailed by Carl Verheyen, can also help with accurate pitch return.

The heel of this model has a softened corner for easier access to the high frets, and the engraved neck plate is shaped accordingly.

This Jeff Beck Stratocaster in Olympic White was built at the Fender Corona Custom Shop during 2006 and is in overal very good original condition. Fret wear is minimal, and the larger frets used are very comfortable and provide excellent grip and ‘traction’ for bending. The noiseless pickups sound great and are definitely quiet.   It carries Jeff Beck’s signature on the back of the headstock along with the Custom Shop logo.

The original G&G case is included, black with Custom Shop logos inside, and it has the original case candy, StrapLocks and trem arm.

Here’s what Fender has to say about the Jeff Beck Stratocaster:

“From blistering British Invasion beginnings through a long and acclaimed solo career of remarkable stylistic versatility, Jeff Beck has taken the Stratocaster to unbelievable sonic heights, with one of the most distinctive musical voices ever coaxed from the instrument. With classic style and special features, make his sound and style your own with the Jeff Beck Stratocaster, which ranks among Fender’s most popular and longstanding artist instruments. “
