⚌Reduced‼ Fender Telecaster Maple Neck Sunburst, 1978

Instrument Categories: , , ,

Since its introduction as the Broadcaster in 1950 as the world’s first two-pickup, solidbody electric guitar, the Fender Telecaster has gone from strength to strength. It has been used in virtually every musical context that accepts electric instruments, and many musicians have built careers on its use. It’s truly an inspired design.

Here we’re looking at a Fender Telecaster Maple Neck in Sunburst finish and largely original condition, built during 1978 in Fullerton, California during the CBS era. It is in overall good condition, with finish and fret wear lighter than what might be expected on a 43-year old instrument that’s been used as intended. It definitely looks feels and sounds like a Telecaster!

The Fender Telecaster is a simple design. A ‘slab’ style body, here in Ash, is paired with a one-piece Maple neck, the neck back bearing a Walnut ‘Skunk Stripe’ covering the rear-mounted truss rod channel. At this point, the Telecaster used a body-end truss rod adjuster and a four-bolt neck plate rather than the ‘Bullet’ head-end adjuster and the three-bolt MicroTilt joint.

This Fender Telecaster is sold with a Fender hard shell case, which also contains the ‘Ashtray’ bridge cover.
