Fender Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster Oxblood 2014

Brand:

Instrument Categories: , ,

Built as a signature model for the influential Queens of the Stone Age guitarist, the Fender Troy Van Leeuwen improves on the iconic offset body guitar.

Based largely on 1965 specifications, the Fender Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster combines a classic offset Alder body with a Maple neck and Rosewood fingerboard sporting binding and block inlays. The gloss polyester finish is an interesting metallic Oxblood tone, and that’s applied to the front of the headstock as well. Two main changes have been made to the straight Jazzmaster design – the pre-set selector switch has been changed to a standard toggle switch rather than the original slider style. Also, the original bridge saddles are replaced with nickel plated Brass Mustang models. A pair of American Vintage ’65 Jazzmaster Pickups are connected to the generally stock Jazzmaster wiring, which can be very versatile.

This example was built during 2014 at the Fender plant in Ensenada, Mexico and is in very good condition. Fret wear is minimal and the guitar plays quite well.

A black rectangular hard shell case is included.

Here is what Fender says about the Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster:

“Since the 1990s, Troy Van Leeuwen has contributed deftly textural guitar work and atmospherics to some of alt-heavy rock’s most acclaimed and forward-thinking bands.

From the influential ’90s alternative of Failure to A Perfect Circle, Queens of the Stone Age, Eagles of Death Metal, Puscifer and others, Van Leeuwen’s multi-instrumental expertise has given great color and power to a great deal of very creative rock music.

The Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster is as distinctive as the sounds he wrings from it, with personalized features including a darkly alluring Oxblood finish, special switching, distinctive bridge/tailpiece combination and more.
