Here is a nicely preserved Gibson ES125TC thin body archtop.  This guitar has both a single cutaway and single dog-ear P-90 pickup, and was built during 1969 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

In Gibson’s naming system, the ES stands for Electric Spanish – Spanish referring to the way the guitar is held and played – a 125 model, with the T meaning Thinline and the C denoting a cutaway.   The other version of this guitar has two pickups and is the ES125 TDC.

This Gibson ES125TC is in very clean condition with light wear.  It appears to be largely original, except for the addition of a gold-plated ABR-1 ‘tune-o-matic’ bridge.  The two ‘Witch Hat’ volume and tone control knobs are likely original, as they appeared around 1968.  The finish has an amount of natural and expected lacquer checking.

This guitar plays well and its light weight makes it comfortable to stand with.   The ES-125’s P-90 is very versatile, working well for blues, jazz and rock styles.   These models tend to have narrow necks, here at 1.577 inches or 40.06mm.

A modern, high quality arched top hard shell case is included.
