❌SOLD❌ Gibson ES335 Studio Memphis Ginger Burst, 2014

The Gibson ES335 Studio uses the same concepts as the standard ES-335 models, but reduces costs by simplifying appointments and using a Torrefied Maple fingerboard in place of Rosewood. The body is unbound, while the fingerboard has black binding that does not cover the ends of the frets, a practice that for Gibson only occurred at the Memphis plant.

Built at the now-closed plant in Memphis Tennessee and Dating to April 15 2014, this Gibson ES335 Studio is in overall good condition with minor play wear. It sports Grover Roto-Matic tuners, a 57 Classic pickup set, stop tailpiece and a tune-a-matic bridge that locks to the bridge posts. The electronics are simplified, with a pickup selector and Master Volume and Tone controls. The finish here is a high gloss ‘Ginger Burst’ executed in nitrocellulose lacquer.

Sold with its original Gibson branded hard shell, arched top case.

This At time of writing, the ES-335 Studio models seem to have been discontinued at the same time the Memphis plant was closed. Gibson currently has an archive page describing the 2015 version which can be viewed; there are minor differences from the 2014 model.

Here’s the builder on the Gibson ES335 Studio model:

“This stripped-down ‘semi’  Gibson ES335 Studio takes on 57 Classic and Super 57 Classic pickups, new finish colors and a great-feeling ‘C’ neck profile, all at an unbeatable made-in-USA price.

The wood, construction, and headstock pitch all contribute greatly to the tone, aiding this guitar’s exceptional sustain and depth, and yielding a resonance that can be felt right through the body. “
