The Twelfth Fret ~ Since 1977 ~

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Les Paul Classic Custom White, 2007

Instrument Categories: , , ,

The Gibson Les Paul Classic Custom was introduced at the 2007 Winter NAMM show, and built until 2012. This model blended some of the aesthetics of the Les Paul Custom with the Classic construction.

Here we’re looking at a Gibson Les Paul Classic Custom in White, built during October of 2007 at the Gibson Nashville plant. It’s in overall good condition with some wear and dings, but plays well and is quite comfortable. The original White nitrocellulose lacquer finish has yellowed nicely with age, and is worn through on the treble side near the 9th fret. There is a finish chip on the body’s back edge of the cutaway. Hardware is gold plated and the pickups are 57 Classics.   Fret wear is light.

Construction details for the Gibson Les Paul Classic Custom varied over the course of its production run. It was initially fitted with a Roasted Maple fingerboard, but this example uses Ebony. Some 2012 models began to switch to Richlite as a fingerboard material. All use chambered Mahogany body with carved Maple cap and Mahogany for the neck. The binding and inlay sets reflect, but don’t always follow, the Les Paul Custom appointments. Here, like the Custom, the head is bound but there is a Mother of Pearl Gibson logo and Crown headstock inlay, and Les Paul Standard style position markers, unlike the Custom’s split parallelogram headstock inlay and block position markers.

The original Gibson Custom hard shell case is included.
