❌ SOLD ❌ Gibson Les Paul Gary Moore Model Sunburst, 2000

Instrument Categories: , , , ,

The Gibson Les Paul Gary Moore model is based on a Les Paul Standard originally owned by Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac, then by the legendary Gary Moore in Thin Lizzy, Skid Row, and solo projects. That Les Paul Standard distinctively lacked binding on the body or neck and had a faded sunburst – here seen as ‘Lemonburst’.

The current Gary Moore model differs somewhat from the original Les Paul Standard construction, in that the fingerboard is not Indian Rosewood, but instead Granadillo, a hardwood commonly used for instruments by South American builders. This example is older, and the fingerboard is almost certainly Indian Rosewood.

Like other Les Paul Standards, the Gary Moore uses a nicely flamed maple top on a mahogany back, with the usual mahogany neck. The neck has a rounded 50’s style profile.

This example dates to November 4 2000 and was built at the Gibson Nashville plant. It is in overall good, original condition with a bit of play wear and the corrosion that is often found on metal and plated parts that come into contact with the player’s skin. Two of the control knobs are cracked, as is the lower screw hole in the truss rod cover. There are a few small dings on the top and back

It plays well, sounds great, and comes with the original hard shell case.
