Here the Godin A8 mandolin, a logical progression from the Gibson Chet Atkins CE solidbody classical guitar. During the late 1970’s, Chet Atkins discussed a new guitar with Gibson. Atkins had been playing nylon string guitars for some time, but these have real limits at full stage volumes. They came up with the Chet Atkins CE and CEC models, which used a spruce top on a mahogany back with traditional classical guitar geometry. Godin Guitars has dramatically improved on this concept with the Multiac and A-Series instruments.

As with all of the Godin A-Series instruments, the Godin A8 mandolin mixes traditional tone woods with modern design concepts and electronics. The two-chamber body is routed from a solid block of mahogany and capped with a solid spruce top. The top is voiced with a unique combination of X and fan bracing that produces exceptional sound and projection even when played acoustically.

But, plugged in is where the Godin A8 mandolin truly excels. The individual RMC saddle transducers run through an RMC preamp voiced specifically for the A8. The A8 is available in two colors; Natural with a satin finish or, Cognac Burst with a high gloss finish.

The Godin A8 mandolin comes with a gig bag.
