Here’s a beauty – a Godin Montreal Premiere Supreme thinline archtop electric, with Flame Maple top and back and Trestle-style Spruce bracing.

The Godin Montreal Premiere Supreme is a compact, thin body single cutaway archtop guitar. Most thinline models of this type use a Gibson ES-335 style of solid Maple center block, but Godin has elected to use a Spruce bracing system suggestive of the Gretsch Trestle bracing of the late 1950’s or their modern, smaller ML system. This bracing system allows better acoustic performance, while still providing significant feedback rejection. This system is also physically lighter than the solid block, and after standing for a few hours or carrying the instrument, that is a real bonus.

Here we’re looking at an older, specially built Godin Montreal Premiere Supreme, built at the Godin plant near La Patrie, Quebec during 2013. The serial number looks like it is a 2014 model, but – this gets a little confusing – Godin’s production year starts August 1st. This guitar was built during September of 2013 and so is a 2014 model.

This guitar is equipped with Chrome plated hardware, and while most of the other Premiere Supreme models use Seymour Duncan pickups, this one has Bare Knuckle models.

This guitar is in overall very good condition with light wear – most of it in the form of fingermarks on the pickguard. It plays well, and has a great sound and feel.

The original, well padded TRIC semi-rigid case is included.

Here is the builder on the current Godin Montreal Premiere Supreme:

“The Godin Montreal Premiere is a thinline, semi-hollow electric guitar, and it is destined to become an instant favorite within your guitar collection. This model is a vibrant & versatile electric guitar for rock, blues, and jazz players alike! It features an innovative and unique “breathe-through” carved spruce core, which gives the body of the Montreal Premiere an astounding resonance unlike any other guitar in its class.

The Montreal Premiere Supreme features a beautifully figured flame maple top and back & sides, along with a bound headstock and fingerboard with large celluloid dot inlays. It is voiced with custom Seymour Duncan humbucker pickups and kept precisely in tune via the high-ratio Godin machine heads.”
