The Godin Multiac Jazz , now discontinued, offers the jazz player the performance of a solidbody with the tonality of a thinline archtop – and synth access!

The Godin Multiac Jazz is one of the many Multiac variants, here with a highly figured Maple top, chambered Maple and Poplar back, Maple neck, Ebony fingerboard and a range of pickup options including synthesizer output.

The Godin Multiac Jazz, like other Multiac models draws from the early 1980’s Gibson Chet Atkins Classical concept – a solid bodied, set-neck guitar with a piezo bridge pickup and preamp set. While Gibson did not pursue this as diligently as they might have, Godin stepped up to produce an excellent, durable and very versatile instrument with a wide range of applications, and very little feedback at stage volumes! These instruments are very popular with performers.

Here we’re looking at a Godin Multiac Jazz in Lightburst finish, dating to December 04, 2003. The components were prepared in Godin’s plants on the Quebec side of the US-Canadian border, then shipped to the Godin plant in Berlin, New Hampshire for assembly. The AAA-grade figured Maple used for the top, and the less figured Maple and Poplar for the body back and neck is sourced from Quebec. The fingberboard is Ebony, though Richlite, a composite material also found on Gibson ES-355 and Lucille models is used on other examples. For hardware, the Multiac Jazz uses a set of side-mounted tuners on the slotted peghead, and the bridge contains a six-element pickup that leads to the Synthesizer output circuitry. To extend the tonal possibilities, a min-humbucker is installed in the neck position.

This excellent guitar is in overall good condition with light to moderate wear, mostly some light finish scuffing. This example has an ‘F’ stamped at the end of the serial number, apparently a reference to a slight finish flaw though we’re not quite sure what that flaw is.

This Godin Multiac Jazz is sold with its original hard shell case.
