Gold Tone OB-150 5-String Pre-War Style Banjo

Brand:

Instrument Categories:

The Gold Tone OB-150 Orange Blossom is a ‘Pre-war’ style 5-string banjo with authentic tone and superb playability and at a price anyone can afford. Aimed towards Bluegrass banjo players, the Gold Tone OB-150 sports a three-ply maple rim and one-piece zinc flange (just like the megabucks originals), a maple neck inlaid in authentic style, a sand-cast brass flathead tone ring and a smooth satin finish. A hardshell case is included.

Grant MacNeill says:
‘The Orange Blossom OB-150 Mastertone-clone Bluegrass banjo has the same quality as the OB-250 at a lower price. Mastertone-Clone banjos use the same features seen on the classic Gibson Mastertone banjos of days-gone-by. These are not ‘replicas’ but are built using the same basic tone-ring-flange-tension hoop construction as used on the old Gibsons. The thin and lightweight one-piece flange with the large cut-outs typical of these banjos is your first indication that this might be a ‘clone-banjo’. This version of a one-piece flange has been used by Gibson since the 1930s.’
