Hamer Monaco Super Pro Amber Burst, 2012 (No Longer Available)

The Hamer Monaco Super Pro was built in the USA from 2002 to 2012 as a single cutaway, chambered solidbody with a figured Maple cap on a Mahogany slab body. The neck is Mahogany, with an Indian Rosewood fingerboard and 25.5 inch scale length. For hardware, Schaller tuners are used, and a standard Tune-o-Matic bridge and stop tailpiece combination. Seymour Duncan custom pickups run through a pickup selector, master volume and two tone controls.

Here we’re looking at a Hamer Monaco Super Pro built during 2012, the last year for this model and shortly before Hamer’s owner, FMIC (Fender Musical Instrument Corporation) shut it down. Hamer re-launched under new ownership in 2017.

This example is in good clean condition with only very light wear, mostly visible as rather light marks on the back. Fret wear is very light. Examining the frets shows the binding covering the fret ends, as is seen on Gibson models. This indicates that the frets are installed before the binding goes on, and before the bound fingerboard is mounted to the neck.

This guitar plays well, and the chambering adds a lively resonance and as a bonus, reduces the overall weight of the instrument.

The original Hamer hard shell case is included.
