Here’s a guitar that takes us back to the 1970s and early 1980’s – an Ibanez Iceman IC-50 BK!  By the mid 1970’s, Ibanez had developed to the point where it no longer needed to rely on copying designs, and new, innovative and high quality guitars like the Ibanez Iceman appeared.

The Ibanez Iceman series was built between 1975 and 2010, and included Paul Stanley models that appeared on massive KISS stages. These guitars were popular with many aspiring rock guitarists, especially those who wanted something a bit – or a LOT – different.

This Ibanez Iceman IC-50 BK built during June 1981 at the Terada plant in Nagoya pairs a distinctively shaped laminated Mahogany body and a 3-ply Birch bolt on neck with Rosewood fingerboard. As a fairly stripped down, straight ahead rock machine, the IC50 uses a pair of Super 70 coverless pickups with individual volume and master tone control, pickup selector, and top mounted output jack. Excellent 3-per-side Ibanez branded tuners, likely made by Gotoh, are at the head and coupled with a Gibraltar bridge and Quik-Change stop tailpiece. Aside from the shape, there’s nothing fancy here!

This guitar has seen life as an active rock guitar, so it has a fair amount of moderate wear – dings, scratches and buckle rash. It plays well, and is quite well balanced.

A Profile gig bag is included.
