Pat Metheny is one of the great modern jazz guitarists, and the Ibanez PM100 Pat Metheny signature model was part of a line of guitars intended to reflect his style. Built from 1996, the PM100 was discontinued in 2010 though other versions are still built. Currently, Pat Metheny mostly plays guitars built by renowned Canadian luthier Linda Manzer.

A fully hollow, double cutaway archtop guitar with a pair of F-holes, the Pat Metheny models use laminated maple for the body, Mahogany for the neck and Ebony for the fingerboard and bridge. The bound fingerboard uses Ibanez’ standard split-block position markers, mixing Mother of Pearl with an Abalone insert. Being a jazz guitar, there is a single pickup in the neck position and the tuners are excellent Gotoh 510 models. The hardware is gold coloured.

This example dates to 2001, and the F at the start of the serial number indicates that it was built in Nagoya by FujiGen for Ibanez. It’s strung with flatwounds, and plays really quite well. The clear natural poly finish is in good condition and is quite durable. The original hard shell case is included.
