Sold‼ C. F. Martin D28 Brazilian Rosewood Dreadnought, 1969

Brand:

Instrument Categories: , , ,

The Martin D28 has long been established as one of the most popular and practical guitar designs, along with the Mahogany body D18. Featuring a Spruce top paired with Rosewood for the back and sides, the D28 delivers a full warm and rich tone with plenty of volume and presence.

Today we’re looking at a C.F. Martin D28 built during 1969 at the Martin facility in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. In keeping with the time it was built, the Rosewood used for the sides, back and head plate was sourced in Brazil. The top is Sitka Spruce, the neck and body blocks Mahogany, and the fingerboard and bridge are Ebony. Grover Roto-Matic tuners are installed and a new bone saddle and bridge pins have been added. The headstock is the late 1960’s rounded shape, with a relatively slim profile neck. It’s very comfortable to play.

This vintage C F Martin D28 guitar is in overall good condition and has had just had the work that nearly every guitar of a certain age will require – a neck reset and setup. Other work done at the same time included some binding stabilization, a new pickguard, and repair of a back crack at the lower treble bout edge. It now plays as good as it sounds, and it really sounds good.

The original hard shell case is included, and contains the original pickguard.
