The Morgan Concert is built in David Iannone’s Morgan Guitar shop in North Vancouver on Canada’s West Coast and shows clear influences from his apprenticeship with Jean Larrivee.

This Morgan Concert was built during 1995, ten years after Iannone’s founding of Morgan Guitars. It shows the clear influences of Larrivee designs, and before him the influence of Edgar Monch. Jean Larrivee initially learned guitar building from Monch during his time in Toronto.

This lovely guitar features a Sitka Spruce top paired with Indian Rosewood for the sides, back and headplate, South American Mahogany for the body blocks and neck, and Ebony for the bridge and bound fingerboard. Decorations are restrained, with no position markers on the fingerboard, just side dots. The Rosette contains a repeating, stylized M pattern. Tuners are Schaller models, and there are no installed electronics.

This guitar is in good condition. The lacquer finish is naturally sinking a bit, and aside from a couple of pressure marks on the back is in good shape with little wear. Fret wear is light to moderate, particularly in the lowest positions. The tone is rich, full and evenly balanced, a characteristic of this classically – proportioned design.

A hard shell case is included.
