❌SOLD❌ Neil Hebert Classical Guitar Brazilian Rosewood, 1986

Brand:

Instrument Categories: , , ,

Here is a rarity, a Neil Hebert classical guitar built in Montreal during 1986, with Cedar top and Brazilian Rosewood for the back, sides and headplate.  Neil Hebert retired some years ago, and was a highly respected builder while active. Unfortunately there isn’t a lot of information available about him, though he does get a mention in the Canadian Encyclopedia under ‘Guitar’.  His work has been assumed by Claude Gibord

This Neil Hebert classical has been well used, and has had a number of significant and exceptionally well done repairs, by Bruno Boutin in Magog, Quebec. It has a secondary label reading:

“Bruno Boutin, Luthier
Restaurée en Septembre 2005
Nouvelle table d’harmonie
Nouvelle touche”

The original top and fingerboard were replaced. There is no information as to why these were required. The new top has some noticeable wear between the soundhole and bridge.

The top is Red Cedar, paired with Brazilian Rosewood for the sides, back, head plate and bridge. The neck is Honduran Mahogany with an Ebony fingerboard.

This spectacular instrument is currently set up with a flamenco-style low action. It has a full, rich and well developed tone.

A tweed hard shell case is included.
