Introduced in late 1977 for the 1978 model year, the Peavey T-60 and its mate the T-40 bass were the first wave of Peavey guitars. Well built, versatile and relatively inexpensive, these instruments rapidly became fairly popular. The T-60’s production ran from 1978 to 1988.

Here we’re looking at an early Peavey T-60, built during 1978 in Meridian, Mississippi. It’s in good, complete and original condition with expected wear such as finish wear along the edges of the fingerboard. Pairing a double-cutaway Ash body with a Maple neck (and with aluminum nut and a neck tilt mechanism), the Peavey T-60 sports a set of Gotoh tuners and a Peavey six-saddle, fully adjustable bridge. For electronics, a pair of hum-cancelling ‘Super Ferrite’ pickups with four conductors and potted in epoxy led to individual volumes – with treble bleed caps – and individual tone controls, and a pair of switches for phase reversal and coil blending.

The body finish is very light, and little to no filler was used for the Ash pores, leading to a very ‘natural’ look and feel. It plays well and cleanly.

The original hard shell case is included.
