Scott Milligan L-00 Spruce and Rosewood Guitar, 2018

Brand:

Instrument Categories: ,

From Toronto Luthier Scott Milligan, this lovely L-00 steel string built with Engelmann spruce and Indian Rosewood, with a very light satin finish.

Scott has been studying under various luthiers in Ontario, including sessions at the Canadian School of Lutherie under Jeremy Nicks, and with Josh House near Goderich.

This Scott Milligan L-00 was built recently at the Milligan Guitars shop in Toronto. It features an Engelmann spruce top, Indian Rosewood back, sides and rosette, with Mahogany for the neck and Ebony for the fingerboard, headplate, and bridge. The body binding is curly Mahogany. The neck features a double-action truss rod, plus carbon fiber stiffeners. The scale length is 24.9 inches, the nut width 1.75 inches, and the neck joins the body at the 13th fret, shifting the bridge closer towards the center of the top. Tuners are open-gear Waverly models, built in Bozeman, Montana.    The linings are laser cut, and construction is very clean. The upper bass side feature a soundport, which provides the player with a much better preview of what the audience hears.

This guitar is very well built, and has a full, rich tone with excellent representation throughout the frequency range. Do check out the video of Dave Martin playing this guitar!

A Hiscox Pro II hard shell flight case is included.
